HumanIED is a collaborative build project in which 3 exhibition stands were designed in response to Thomas Heatherwick's Humanise book - 'A maker's guide to building our own world.'
The project is a spatial enquiry into the anatomy of 'build,' challenging the potential of construction standard components and interrogating three human-centric themes: Adorn; Awe; and Behaviour.
It was industry sponsored project and designed collaboratively in six weeks by final year Interior and Environmental Design Students at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.
This installation seeks to drive a more intimate interaction with the use of site standard C16 structural grade timber and how three 'off the shelf' section sizes can evoke spatial rhythms that frame softer environments in which to explore the human condition and its connection to the interior.
Awarded to the project:
Scottish Interior Design Student’s Showcase, Best Exhibition Stand Prize (2025)
